Milwaukee Film Festival RFID Powered Touchscreen Film Browser

The Milwaukee Film Festival opening night gala was a grand affair. Held at Milwaukee's Discovery World, visitors were treated to great food, wine, and plenty of visual stimuli. Stamm Media produced an RFID powered experience that let attendees create custom film itineraries, and take their film festival with them.

Upon entering the gala, guests stopped at one of two registration stations where they were asked for their name and email address. They were each given a "Popcorn Pass" which contained an RFID tag containing a unique 6 digit number now tied to their name. Guests could then use one of two touchscreens to browse the festival films, and if one struck their fancy, add it to their itinerary by swiping their RFID powered Popcorn Pass. The RFID readers were housed inside a popcorn container adding to the theme.

A fun extra feature was added to allow guests to compare itineraries and see if they had similar taste in film. This worked by two guests scanning their RFID tags and retrieving their itinerary from a web server Stamm Media setup at the event.
