Donor Wall for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin
Children's Hospital wanted to update their donor appreciation program from old fashioned plaques on the wall, to a centralized, flexible, and more visible solution. Utilizing an already existing installation of 4 plasma displays mounted in a custom cabinet, an 8 screen animated interactive donor wall was created.
The donor wall consists of an 8 monitor display and a stand-alone touchscreen kiosk. Using the kiosk, donors can search for their name and on both on the kiosk, and on the large wall, the donor is thanked - gracefully interrupting the media playing on the wall.
The media content for the wall is presented in two acts. Act 1, or the "Corporate Loop", is an informational presentation of the hospital's services and priorities. Act 2, or the "Donor Loop", is a richly illustrated and animated journey through classic Wisconsin landscapes.
Split into multiple scenes, the "Donor Loop" functions as a tribute wall. In-between scenes, 6 of the 8 panels become the backdrop for a collage of names. Color and size are used to differentiate the giving levels.
One of the major benefits of the wall is the ease of updating it. Through a custom web portal, new donors can be added to the wall at any time. The web portal also allows for other functionality such as scheduling and playing custom slideshows, and displaying a custom greeting; handy for the many tours that come through the lobby.
